OVERVIEW

At PRC we believe that rowing promotes health, personal development and a chance for everyone to fulfill their potential.  We are committed to delivering inclusive and engaging programs for youth aged 14-18 years, from beginners to high performance athletes. The junior programs introduce participants to the basics of rowing in a fun and safe environment, and also carry juniors into athlete development pathways to allow for competition at higher levels, if they so wish. Through these programs juniors build valuable relationships and develop leadership & team-building skills that they can carry forward into their everyday lives.

The fall/winter season allows access to all on- and off-water activities run by PRC throughout this period. This includes 2 fall regattas (Head of the Rideau and Head of the Trent) and a winter training program. There is limited coaching in the fall, as priority for coaching and equipment goes to Trent University crews. During the winter a training program is provided that can be completed independently, or with Trent athletes (weekdays; 6-7:30 am) or with other juniors (Mon, Wed, Fri, 4:30-6 pm, and Sat 7-8:30 am). This training occurs at the Trent Athletic Centre (TAC). PRC members are required to purchase a TAC membership which is offered at a discounted price.
