OVERVIEW
PRC adult programs are for rowers of all athletic backgrounds and ages.  We offer a variety of programs to match skill level and competitive interest.  All of our programs take place on one of the most beautiful locations to row in Canada, the historic Otonabee River.  Introductory programs, like Learn to Row and Return to Row, provide participants the basics of the sport in a fun, engaging and safe environment.  The Row 4 Life program is a training group open to anyone who has rowing experience and want to row for fitness, health and fun.  Club Competitive gives experienced rowers the opportunity to train seriously, receive coaching and compete locally and nationally.

Learn to row

DESCRIPTION

The Learn to Row program introduces adults to the sport of rowing.  Crossfitters wanting to learn what an erg is used for?  Curious parent looking to experience what rowing is all about?  Rowing is a true lifelong sport that is uniquely positioned to address the needs of people over their entire lifetime.  Everyone is welcome!

RETURN TO ROW

DESCRIPTION

This adult intermediate program is a opportunity to further develop fitness, basic boat handling skills and to gradually increase independence on the water.  Individuals will have the chance to row in a crew boat or by themselves.

Prerequisite: Adults must have completed a Learn to Row program or the equivalent time on the water.

DESCRIPTION

For adults with rowing experience who row for fitness, health, and fun.  Members may race if they choose, but this is not their focus.   Rowers who consider themselves Active for Life typically row 2-4 times/week, usually during the 6-8pm session. Individuals are also welcome to come to the Club training group sessions and of course the Sunday social row.  Individuals will have the opportunity to row in crew boats and/or small boats.

DESCRIPTION

For athletes (19 and over) who are interested in training to get fit, improve technically and race at local and regional regattas.  Do you like to race for the love of racing? Do you like to socialize with your teammates after training and racing?  Do you have a life and commitments outside rowing?  You are a club athlete!

Attendance at all sessions is not mandatory, but consistent attendance will lead to improvement.  Athletes follow a training program Boatings are put together by the coach based on a signup a week prior.

An appropriate program for athletes committed to a year round training program who are competing in major regattas.  This training group is for adults (19 and over) who are looking to challenge themselves with a higher volume and intensity of training.
